Tao Movie Night - Sept 17th, 7pm – 8:30pm - The Healing Tao Society presents; HOW IT ALL BEGAN Origins of the Healing Tao System At a time in history when Yoga was practiced in basements and Kung Fu found only in the movies, Taoist Internal Alchemy was not accessible to the western world. This was the time Master Mantak Chia came to America with a dream to share Taoist Wisdom. Early seekers of the Tao found him in a small office in Chinatown, New York City and the Healing Tao system was born and became a bridge between East and West. We traveled the world to interview Master Chia and those early seekers who reveal 'How it All Began.'

Before the documentary enjoy a taste of qigong and then after documentary Q&A with producer and director Karin Sorvik. Proceeds will go to support the public charity The Healing Tao Society With your ticket you get a chance to win a Healing Workshop with local teacher Julian Davis.

Taoist Yoga – Thursdays from 7-8:30pm, Julian Davis. First Class Free.

Taoist Yoga is a once secret heart centered spiritual science, designed to speed the natural process of spiritual evolution. Like most yogic or alchemical traditions it is broken up into phases, and requires daily discipline. "Mastery through practice in discipline gives access to light and wisdom. The practice is achieved in phases" - Patanjali, Yoga Sutra.

My focus is on principals, and the enjoyment of life through the understanding and application of these fundamental principles, or language of the life force (our teacher). Self acceptance (unconditional love) is the greatest of these principals and is the main subject of this Yoga.

Teresa Winters, RN, MPH - Yoga Express - contiunes Wednesdays from Noon-1pm (1st class FREE). Teresa has been involved in the field of health for over a decade. Her interest in the human body and holistic care began as a registered nurse 12 years ago and as a practitioner of Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism, has expanded to include the essential mind body connection. She recently completed a Master’s in Public Health and gained a community perspective. When she began a dedicated yoga practice 4 years ago all of these elements came together. She was so moved by the effects of yoga on her own life that she went on to become a 200 hour OM certified yoga instructor. Teresa hopes to achieve a nurturing space where her students can enjoy and explore a combination of the physical and emotional benefits of yoga.
